Giuseppe Restaurants & Fine Catering has a new member of our family, and we can’t be more excited!  Larry Rinehart joins us as Director of Business Development, a position so critical to our growth, only the most passionate and savvy individual could fill it.

Larry has been in the food service industry for years and still loves the excitement, challenge, creativity and show business of it all.  Leaving New York City in 1975 to live on the “Left” coast, he began his California chapter in San Diego with an inspired French restaurant in Carlsbad called “The Restaurant.”  From Saucier and Maître d’ (eventually adding Partner to his title) at “The Restaurant,” he went to work for Siegfried Heil at “Café Europa” in Oceanside as Head Waiter/Dining Room Manager.

Then Larry headed from Oceanside to Encinitas and opened “Rinehart & Company” on Coast Highway as Partner and Executive Chef where he prepared what, at the time, was called California Cuisine.

As the 80’s came to a close, Larry moved into the Catering business.  His friend Tony Kopas wanted to start a high end catering company and Larry was open to the Executive Chef opportunity. 20 years later, Larry was Owner and Executive Chef of TK&A Custom Catering and it was time to pass the baton.

At Giuseppe Restaurants & Fine Catering, Larry plans to build on our strong reputation for quality and our Italian roots.

“Italy is the nation from which the ‘Slow Food’ movement sprang some 20 years ago.  It is a message of seasonal foods, regional food and quality food that has been part of the national heritage of Italy for centuries.  This idea fits the parallel track that I have followed in my career. It’s made this move a wonderful opportunity to grow into new areas and a divine challenge,” says Larry.

With his strength of knowledge, experience and talent on our side, we look forward to great new things to come.

Buon Appetito San Diego!

Greetings everyone…

It’s that time of the year again!  The Sculpture Court Café summer season starts on Tuesday, June 15th, and our bartenders and kitchen crew are warming up for a great new Happy Hour in the Park.

We’ll have delicious specialty cocktails like the chilled Balboa Paloma and, as always, great bites like “To Die For” Truffle & Parmesan Fries. And we’ve invited back our favorite musician David Di Alva’s Latin-inspired beat.

Come join us for the first Happy Hour on Tuesday June 15, 2010 from 3pm to 6pm.  The cafe will be open until 8pm, and you can order all your favorites from our regular menu.

Hope to see you there!

If you’re looking to host a networking mixer, The Sculpture Court Café at The San Diego Museum of Art is the perfect venue!
